Indiana Broker Renewal Requirements

  • Renewal Cycle: 3 years

Indiana real estate broker's must complete 36 hours of elective-based CE courses every 3-year, 12 hours each year. The current 3 year cycle ends June 30, 2026. Courses can be repeated as long as they are taken only once within each three-year year renewal cycle.

POST LICENSING EDUCATION INFORMATION

As of July 1, 2014, a broker must complete within the first two (2) years of licensure thirty (30) hours of approved post licensing education. A licensee is exempt from meeting the regular continuing education requirements until a full 2-year CE cycle has completed. Once a licensee has gone through this period, they will be required to complete 12 hours of CE per year.

Indiana Managing Broker Renewal Requirements

  • Elective: 24
  • Renewal Cycle: 3 years

Indiana real estate managing brokers must complete 36 hours of continuing education every 3 years, 12 hours every year. 4 of the 12 yearly hours must include IREC’s core topic. CBT does not currently offer this course; however, we do offer eight hour electives renewal packages that meets the state’s electives requirement. The current 3 year cycle ends June 30, 2026.

Receiving Credit for Completed Courses

In Indiana, continuing education schools provide notice of course completion to the Commission. CBT submits notice of course completions three times a week. In turn, IREC posts credit to your education transcript.

NOTE: Each time you complete a course on the CBT website, you will receive a courtesy email from us that verifies your completion. You will receive a second email each time we submit notice of a course completion to the state.

After all of your course completions have been posted to the IREC website you can navigate to the website to log into your account and renew your license: https://mylicense.in.gov/egov/

Regulation of Online CE Courses

There are no limits to the number of continuing education courses that can be taken online. Seat timers are not required by the Commission; therefore, timers are NOT included in our courses. Final exams are not required by the state and therefore are not in these courses.
